Caipirinha Cocktail

Cachaca is a Brazilian rumlike liquor made from sugarcane and can be found in most liquor stores.

  • Yield: Makes 1 pitcher

  • 6 limes, ends trimmed, cut lengthwise into 8 wedges, then crosswise into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 3/4 cup simple syrup
  • 2 cups cachaca, chilled
  • 5 cups ice
  • 1 cup cold water


  1. Place limes and simple syrup in a large pitcher and muddle until limes begin to break down. Add cachaca, ice, and cold water to pitcher. Stir well and serve.

    Where did you get this recipe? I am Brazilian and I am 55 years old. Caipirinha is not made like that. There's no water and no syrup in the recipe. We use granulated sugar and no water.
