Hot-chocolate mix is a wintertime staple. A homemade version is delicious and natural -- containing only cocoa, sugar, and salt -- and especially economical compared with store-bought mixes.

Look how sensational. What a different recipe, this I've never heard of. I need to try this. Hehe .. I have a blog where I talk about Brigadiers Gourmet and como fazer sapatinhos de bebĂȘ para vender.

My son and I wanted hot chocolate but only had one packet left. I went on the internet to find a homemade recipe and this one popped up. Disaster averted! It's delicious! Better than store-bought, and it mixes in better with milk because it doesn't have all the fake ingredients. This also has to be much cheaper, as it makes quite a bit. I add a few peppermint Hershey kisses to the mug. My favorite winter treat.

I was looking to make a small batch, so I just changed the measurements from cups to tablespoons. 3T sugar, 2T cocoa and a pinch of salt. I used one T per mug's worth of milk. It was awesome!

This recipe will only be as good as the quality cocoa you use so there is that. I used Frontier Fair Trade Organic Dutch Processed Unsweetened Cocoa, which is fairly high quality, to make mine and it was fantastic. I cut the recipe in half and only used 1.5 Tbs per 8 oz milk because the full two was chocolate overload. I used table salt and granulated sugar like the recipe called for. It was neither too sweet or too salty. I scald my milk on the stove. I also add a drop of vanilla paste. Yummy!

Very salty. I thought it lacked the chocolate taste. I used powdered sugar. So I added more chocolate and sugar to balance it out. Not impressed at all.
