yikes, that's a lot of sugar .... i make my own too but use 1/3 sugar to 2/3 dark european cocoa powder.
i ran out of pre-made hot cocoa, so I looked this up. I will never go back to packaged mixes again! This is so easy, tastes better, and very economical. I recycle my plastic to-go soup containers and store the mix it.
a few years ago i made hot cocoa mixes as little gifts for friends complete with mugs, marshmallows, and peppermint bark...i went through the trouble of powdered milk and all these other ingredients. this recipe was easy and less hassle! i put everything into a gallon ziploc bag and shook it up. next time i will reduce the salt; it was a little salty for my tastes.
