Project

Reuse Scrap Wrapping Paper

With a little recycling know-how, even the smallest bits of pretty fabric and paper can make a big impact. Turn them into strips of decorative tape and you'll have beautiful trims at the ready. We like to use the tape to seal cellophane bags of treats, wrap packages, and make stationery more festive.

Materials

  • For fabric, use sharp shears to make the cleanest edges.
  • Double-sided tape with waxed paper backing
  • Fabric and/or paper remnants
  • Fabric and/or craft scissors

Steps

  1. Step 1

Peel a length of tape from a roll, and adhere it to a smooth piece of fabric or paper.

  2. Step 2

Cut away excess fabric or paper along the edges of the tape.

  3. Step 3

When you're ready to use the trim, cut to the desired length and remove the waxed paper backing.
