Didn't see *all* the comments before. There is slight variation but all the answers for how to interpret "U" cup are very interesting.

"U" is either a typo or a computer glitch. Since the recipe is supposed to serve 2 and the toasted oat mixture totals 1 C, I'm guessing that you're supposed to mix 1/2 - 3/4 C of the toasted oat mixture with the yogurt and then sprinkle the remaining amount (1/2 to 1/4 C) over the top. When you select the proportion you wish to use, you just need to decide it you want it to be more crunchy or more chewy.

I do not understand this section of the Directions..."stir together U cup of toasted oat mixture"... What is the "U" supposed to mean?

According to the USDA website, a "U" unit of measure for this recipe would be about a 1/2 cup per person. This would be a generous portion of muesli. I use a 1/3 cup portion. I also add a banana. Fresh berries in the summer make a delightful change.

I also do not know what "U" means in the directions of this recipe. I googled as you said and no luck. Just tell us what it means. Thank you!

Well, it won't let me input the whole link. It's cutting it off. Do a search on google. Key world "U" and "includes these words "Recipe, measure".

From what I can gather on a Google Search, it's a new Culinary Calculation for Units of Measure. http://books.google.com/books?id=5mC7E23HuPwC
