Peach Shakes

This fruit-filled smoothie is a good source of protein for kids and babies 1 year old and older.

  • yield: Makes 2 1/2 cups

Ingredients

  • 4 medium peaches (about 1 pound)
  • 6 ounces soft tofu
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Directions

  1. Step 1

    Prepare an ice bath. Bring a medium saucepan of water to a boil. Score an X in the bottom of the peaches; place in boiling water 30 seconds. Using a slotted spoon, transfer peaches to ice bath; let cool completely. Drain; peel peaches, starting at the X. Cut into quarters, and remove pits.

  2. Step 2

    Place peaches in the jar of a blender, and add tofu, orange juice, and honey, if using. Puree until smooth. Serve.

    As a mum, I love to have something tasty for my kids to sip on when the grown ups are having their tingling cocktails. This particular cool shake, happens to be my kids favorite....at least for now :)
