Smoky Spanish Breadcrumbs

Use yesterday's bread today. Top salad or soup with Oregano-Parmesan Croutons or Chili-Lime Tortilla Strips, coat cutlets with crumbs, or make Simple Crostini.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups fresh breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground thyme
  • Coarse salt and ground pepper

Directions

  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. On a rimmed baking sheet, toss breadcrumbs with olive oil, paprika, and thyme. Season with salt and pepper. Bake in an even layer until breadcrumbs are toasted and crisp, about 18 minutes, tossing halfway through.
