Dirty Green Simple Buttercream

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds (6 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 pound confectioners' sugar, sifted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Red and green food coloring

Directions

  1. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, combine the butter, sugar, vanilla and salt. Begin beating on low speed, increasing to high for 2 minutes, scraping down the sides of the bowl occasionally. Using food coloring, tint the icing dirty green.

    It is correct, ladies! I have made these and they are wonderful, but very rich, and I use this recipe with less butter for layer cakes.

    Yeah, that seems to be a lot. But it's meant for 12 cupcakes... I'm not sure.

    I'm thinking that 6 sticks of butter is not right on this recipe. Is it 1 1/2 sticks, not 1 1/2 lbs?
