Vanilla Egg Cream

  1. In a tall glass mix together vanilla simple syrup, milk, and seltzer; stir well to combine. Serve immediately.

    I keep lots of non fat milk, seltzer water and various flavors of syrypt on hand hat I purchase from St**buc*s and have one of these everyday with a different flavor syrup. It makes for a nonfat low calorie "sweet quenching" drink and I LOVE THEM!!!!

    I work for an internally known cafe' and I serve Italian sodas and Egg creams every day. I have enjoyed these refreshing drinks since I was a child. My Grandmother used to make them for me. Old-fashioned soda shoppes and diners still serve these wonderful refreshments. Some of these establishments use a sweetened soda such as 7-up or Sierra Mist to make the drink. This might be preferable to those who like their drinks a little sweeter. Chocolate egg creams are also very delicious. Thank you Martha, for bringing a smile to my face by showing this recipe on your show.

    That's it? Just carbonated water and diluted milk with flavoring? I have never had an egg cream, I was thinking it was rich and creamy. Blah!
