This was a really good base for a homemade but quick and delicious cranberry sauce. I followed the directions and merged it with another MS recipe, adding 2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger while it cooked and 4 tablespoons sherry vinegar with the orange juice at the end.
The only change next time would be to cut the recipe in half. Two 12oz bags made waaay too much-even for leftovers, and I had 16 people for a potluck.
I was looking for an easy, fragrant and flavorful cranberry sauce recipe for Thanksgiving...this one was perfect! I added a little cinnamon and ginger as mentioned in another post. Crossing my figures that the family loves it as much as I do!
This is exactly the recipe that I love to make every year and but I add cinnamon and ginger to taste. I make a head and put it in the frig in canning jars to give as a gift or take to a unexpected holiday dinner. Wonderful!
Yummy! Of course, I never leave a recipe along. I made a half recipe which included 1 bag cranberries, 1 pear (pealed and diced), peel of 1 whole orange-diced, juice of the orange, 1/2 cup water, dash of cinnamon, 1/8 tsp ground ginger, 1/2 cup Splenda, 1/4 cup sugar, pinch of salt, and dash of ground Cayenne pepper. Threw it all in a small saucepan. Follow cooking directions. Great for relish or on top of oatmeal or drizzled on cheesecake.
This was so simple, but amazing. So fragrant. I didn't have oranges, but fresh Clementines on hand and for the zest and juice it was exquisite. A new favorite for the future.
My family loved this, including the ones that said they hate cranberry sauce
