Graphic fruit and vegetable motifs are in season now. but rather than investing in garden-variety rubber stamps, repurpose a few corks. Just add ink and a little imagination for custom party invitations, stationery, gift tags, and labels for your kitchen creations.
The ink impression will be mottled because of the naturally uneven surface of the cork -- that's part of the design's charm.
Tools and Materials
- Corks in various sizes, save-on-crafts.com
- Teardrop ink pad
- Regular ink pad
- Note cards, envelopes, letter paper, gift tags, and/or labels
- Fine-tip markers
How-To
1. Press a cork into an ink pad, then stamp it onto the paper.
2. Use fine-tip markers to draw details around the stamped circles: leaves on a radish, a stem on an orange, a pod for peas, and so on.

I cannot believe I did not think of coming to Martha's website from the very beginning. I had been looking for great crafts for kids as rainy day actiities. These are great! Thank you so much!

it so cool
I love this idea and with a little imagination you can do these and more:) thank you for the great idea!
The designs shown here are all round in shape. There are no instructions other than stamping the corks on the color pads so I can only assume there are no designs on the end of the cork. The only difference in the patterns is the diameter of the circle. Details are made with pen lines.
Me gusta!!! muy lindo y facil para hacer con los niƱos!!!!!!!
Where are the instructions on how to make the cork stamps?
It would be nice to have some close-ups of the vegs. as an aide to replicate.
Don't limit yourself to veggies and fruit. Caterpillars and beetles can be used for boys invites or thank you notes. Bears, bunnies, cats...
