Project

Cork Stamp How-To

Graphic fruit and vegetable motifs are in season now. but rather than investing in garden-variety rubber stamps, repurpose a few corks. Just add ink and a little imagination for custom party invitations, stationery, gift tags, and labels for your kitchen creations.

Materials

Steps

  1. Step 1

Press a cork into an ink pad, then stamp it onto the paper.

  2. Step 2

Use fine-tip markers to draw details around the stamped circles: leaves on a radish, a stem on an orange, a pod for peas, and so on.

The designs shown here are all round in shape. There are no instructions other than stamping the corks on the color pads so I can only assume there are no designs on the end of the cork. The only difference in the patterns is the diameter of the circle. Details are made with pen lines.

Don't limit yourself to veggies and fruit. Caterpillars and beetles can be used for boys invites or thank you notes. Bears, bunnies, cats...
