I halved the recipe but otherwise followed it to the letter even though a few of the instructions seemed odd to me. The texture turned out perfectly without being stringy, clumpy or sticky and took less time to cook than it says here. I will say as someone who really enjoys garlic and spicy things that I was slightly disappointed by how mild this recipe is. However there is still a great garlic flavor to the potatoes and the garlic cloves really add to the dish. Still, good enough to make again.

The only mashed potatoes I make now. Enough garlic to taste garlicky, but not overwhelmingly so.

This is a fantastic recipe! Super easy and delicious! I doubled it, bought a 10 lb bag of potatoes and used all but 4. I only used 2 cups of milk as I was unsure if I had the correct amount of potatoes. They turned out perfect! I mixed them in a kitchen aid mixer and they came out perfectly smooth. I highly recommend this recipe!!
