Cherry Bombs

The cherry bomb evokes the Shirley Temple that used to make you feel grown-up.

  • Servings: 6

  • 1 cup grenadine
  • 1 liter clear citrus soda, or seltzer
  • 18 maraschino cherries

  1. Place 2 cups water in a medium saucepan, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Add grenadine; stir to combine. Pour mixture into two ice-cube trays. Freeze until solid, 2 hours or overnight.

  2. Fill six glasses with grenadine ice cubes. Top with soda. Garnish with cherries, and serve.

Also known and originally known as a Shirley Temple!! Way to go in being original, Martha.

You boil them together so that they are blended well and so that your cubes are clear not cloudy.

Why does the water need to boil, just to add grenadine syrup? Seems pointless.

I'd say like seven-up, sprite, or lemon-lime soda.

What do you call a clear citrus soda? I'm looking for a punch for a children's Christmas dinner table
