Breakfast Smoothies

Any other ripe fruit, such as peaches or raspberries, can be substituted for the strawberries. Healthy Calcium-Rich Menu

  • Yield: Makes 4 eight-ounce smoothies

  • 1 1/2 cups (12 ounces) plain fat-free yogurt
  • 3 to 4 bananas, peeled, cut into chunks
  • 14 ounces strawberries, stems removed, roughly chopped to equal 3 cups
  • 1/4 cup skim milk or soy milk
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup ice


  1. Gradually add all ingredients to the jar of a blender; puree until smooth. Serve.

    Wow! I made this smoothie this morning... it was delicious! I actually changed the recipe, cutting everything down by dividing what they called for by 3, and used a bit less yogurt that the recipe calls for (smoothies are never good with too much yogurt), and it was purely delectable! You really have to try this strawberry-banana smoothie - It's the best!

    You can go to weight watchers for that info, or there is an electronic cookbook called Living Cookbook that does that process for any reciepe - I have been using this for about 10 years and have very good luck knowing what I am eating.

    I wish Martha would include the nutritional value of foods such as calories, fat, fiber, etc. It would be most helpful. Thanks.
