Martini

The less vermouth in it, the drier the martini.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup vodka or gin
  • 2 teaspoons dry vermouth
  • Cocktail olives

Directions

  1. In a cocktail shaker half full of ice cubes, combine gin or vodka and vermouth. Shake well, and strain into martini glasses. Garnish with olives, and serve.

    I put my martini glasses in the freezer after I've rinsed the bowl with water, it makes slight shards of ice around the rim. And, I've discovered capers make a great garnish instead of, or in addition to, olives. YUM!

    Definitely chill the glasses glasses before you make a Martini

    I like to chill my martini glasses with ice while I'm making my martini.

    Also, before I add the gin or vodka to the shaker.. I like to shake the vermouth first, and then strain out the excess vermouth,
