In a food processor, combine mayonnaise, cream cheese, capers, red onion, lemon juice, horseradish, and 2 ounces smoked salmon. Process until smooth, about 20 seconds. Transfer to a small bowl and stir in remaining 2 ounces smoked salmon. Top with fresh parsley and serve with bagel chips.
Yeah we made this amazing smoked salmon dip (and bagel chips) and just made some minor substitutions like fat free cream cheese and light mayo. Still came out a huge hit! Just a little healthier...
I substituted coarse grain mustard for the horseradish. It worked out wonderful.
can I substitute horseradish with another ingredient ?
This is my standard go to appetizer. Everyone loves it. Give it a try!
This spread is AMAZING. I substitute freshly grated horseradish for the prepared horseradish, and add extra to taste. I've tried it with the prepared horseradish, but I find using fresh gives the spread a firmer texture, which I prefer.
