- Yield: Makes 1 sandwich
- Unsalted butter, (room temperature)
- Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper
- 2 slices white bread
- 3 to 4 slices red or sweet onion
Spread butter on one slice of bread. Layer with onion slices, and season with salt and pepper. Top with remaining slice of bread. Cut in either halves or quarters, and serve.
