Set a large pot of salted water to boil. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium until crisp, 5 to 7 minutes. With a slotted spoon, transfer to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain (leave fat in skillet).
Add shallots to skillet; season with salt and pepper. Cook over medium, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften, 1 to 2 minutes. Add peas and half-and-half; season with salt and pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.
Cook pasta in boiling water until al dente, according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water; drain pasta, and return to pot. Pour sauce over pasta; toss to combine, adding some reserved pasta water a little at a time to coat. Sprinkle with bacon, and serve immediately.
My whole family, including my 9 year old, loved this dish! I added garlic for some added flavor. I was delicioius and we will make it again!
Very good and very easy. Instead of half-and-half I used some milk thickened with flour and it came it great. Good quick and easy dinner!
This recipe is so easy and really delicious. I love pasta carbonara but the raw eggs in the sauce always worry me. This recipe is egg free and tastes great!
this recipe is great! super easy and VERY delicious! it makes really good leftovers; it will feed my husband and me for about a week.

I just bade this last night! I added some mushrooms, garlic and a splash of cooking wine. Very good.
Excellent, fast, and easy. Great on a weekday.
How can something so simple be so good? It's a perfect weekday meal. The kids even ate the peas! I did use pancetta instead of bacon, because I had it. But I sent this recipe to all my friends. It's a keeper!
This was incredible. My kids inhaled it! I have never cared for dry angel hair pasta, but the fresh angel hair pasta was excellent. I wouldn't change a thing about this recipe. It was so quick and easy!
This was definitely easy to make, and delicious. The next time I make it, I am going to use a half a box to three-quarters of a box of pasta, and break them in half before cooking. I felt there was too much pasta, which made it seem dry. Also, when the pasta was long, it was hard to mix. Also, I might add more bacon. I will definitely make it again. My two small kids (ages 1
I think it needs more of a sauce, was a bit dry, but it was good. Great taste!
This was great just the way it is. But will try other Ideas also. My Husband sprinkled a Soy Sause on his. good to.

We made this over the weekend and it was wonderful- we also added boneless chicken to it - Family loved it will make it again I'm sure
My family loved this recipe! I used leftover bacon from our weekend breakfast. I have two teenage boys and I was worried that this recipe would be a bit light for them. I was wrong. They loved it! I also recommended this recipe to my mother who cooks for one.
