Winter Papaya Salad


Papayas and strawberries are widely available in the late winter months and make a refreshing and light dessert.

  • 1 pink papaya
  • 1 yellow papaya
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries
  • 1 lime, halved
  • Fresh mint, as garnish


  1. Peel papayas; scoop out the seeds and discard. Wash the strawberries and remove the hulls.

  2. Slice strawberries in half, or in quarters if very large. Cut one of the papayas into 1-inch chunks and the other into long strips 1/2 inch wide.

  3. Squeeze lime halves over fruit, garnish with fresh mint leaves, and serve.
