Alice's Strawberry Sherbet

  • Yield: Makes about 1 quart

  • 2 baskets strawberries, 1 pint each, rinsed, dried, and hulled (about 4 cups)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • A few drops lemon juice or kirsch, optional


  1. In a blender, puree the strawberries with the water and the sugar. Taste, and adjust flavor with a few drops of lemon juice or kirsch, if needed.

  2. Transfer mixture to an ice-cream maker, and freeze, following manufacturer's instructions.
