Heat sugar and 1 cup water in a small
saucepan over medium heat, stirring,
until sugar has dissolved, 5 to 6 minutes.
Stir together lime juice and 5 cups water in a large pitcher; stir in sugar syrup. Refrigerate until cold (or up 2 days in an airtight container). Garnish each serving with a lime wedge.
splenda is o.k. but why not try SomerSweet, you can get it on line. and it takes much less than sugar or Splenda, and the taste is terrific. Just ask any of the millions of Somersizers. Thanks Martha for the recipe it is good, and my family is prone to be or is diabetic. but thanks to somersweet we can have much more than ever before.
Do you dissolve the Splenda as you would the sugar, or just add it in granular form? Just wondering, as my husband is also a diabetic.
Debdes, I have made lemonade with Splenda many times as my husband is diabetic

Has anyone ever made this or lemonade with Splenda instead of sugar? Was wondering if it was as good substituting it....
