This version of the Brazilian national cocktail comes to us from mixologist Dale DeGroff.
- 3/4 to 1 ounce Simple Syrup Dale DeGroff's Simple Syrup
- 1/2 lime, halved lengthwise and crosswise
- 2 ounces Cachaca
- Large ice cubes
In a large, sturdy glass, using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon, muddle together the simple syrup and lime, to extract the oils from the skin of the lime. Add Cachaca, and fill the glass with ice. Shake vigorously, and pour contents into an old-fashioned glass.
