Cranberry Compote

Serve with Shaker Citrus Pie.

  • Yield: Makes 1 cup

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • Zest of 1/2 orange
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan. Place over medium-high heat, and cook 7 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until berries start to pop but are still whole. Transfer to a bowl to cool; serve.
