Papaya Melon Citrusade

This tropical cooler is perfect for hot summer days.

  • 1 two-and-a-quarter-pound cantaloupe, peeled and seeded
  • 2 one-pound red papayas, peeled and seeded
  • 3/4 cups Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (2 oranges)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)


  1. Place cantaloupe in a juice extractor; process, extracting 2 cups juice.

  2. Place papayas in extractor; process, extracting 1 3/4 cups juice.

  3. Transfer juices to a large pitcher; stir in remaining ingredients. Fill with ice, and serve.

Cook's Notes

If you don't own a juice extractor, you can use a food processor or blender to puree fruit, then pass the puree through a fine strainer.
