Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup carrot juice

  • 1/4 cup frozen mango chunks

  • 1/4 cup ice cubes

Cook's Note

You can usually find fresh carrot juice in your grocer's produce section. Look for mango chunks in the freezer section of natural-foods stores -- or cut up and freeze your own fresh mango.

Directions

  1. Step 1

Combine ingredients in a blender. Blend on medium speed until smooth, about 30 seconds. Pour into a tall glass (or travel mug) and enjoy immediately.

I had some baby carrots that needed to be used, so I juiced them myself and proceeded with the recipe that followed. I ended up adding about a 1/2 tsp of Agave Nectar to sweeten it up a bit.

I would agree with nature_diva. Try using unfrozen mango chunks so that it's more of a juice than a smoothie. I used frozen mango and it just makes it to thick to drink from the cup. I tried a straw but is too difficult to suck up.

I just served this to my husband with a fresh Citrus Poppyseed loaf and grapefruit. The entire breakfast was a hit. I used fresh, unfrozen mango, which made this more like a juice than a smoothie, it was still great. This was an instant favourite. We love our new Orange Breakfast!

I just made this for the first time for my husband and I to share over a fresh Citrus Poppyseed loaf and grapefruit. I used fresh mango and it turned out great, it was more like a juice than a smoothie because of this, but this became an instant fav just the same. We now call that breakfast: Orange Breakfast!
