No. 18: Whiskey Sour
Mo'Nique joins Martha to make a whiskey sour, number 18 in our "20 More Things Everyone Should Know" series.
Rub the lemon wedge around the rim of a 12-ounce rocks glass. Place turbinado sugar in a shallow dish. Dip the rim of the glass in the sugar to coat; set aside.
In a large cocktail shaker, combine bourbon, orange juice, lemon juice, granulated sugar, and ice. Cover, and shake vigorously until all ingredients are well combined and cold. Pour into prepared glass, and garnish with orange slice.
All bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon in case anyone thinks there isn't whiskey in this. It's an excellent cocktail. Used Cava oranges.
Funny - I never knew that a whisky Sour didn't actually have Whisky in it.
LOL, the website won't let me write coctails with a "K"!
Add 1 tbsp of juice from Maraschino cherries (cocktail cherries) to your cocktail - it is subtle but gorgeous!
