Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat until hot but not smoking. Add beef, and sprinkle with the salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, until browned, 3 to 4 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer beef to a plate.
Add scallions and garlic to skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, until golden, about 30 seconds. Add broccoli and 1/2 cup water. Cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture is dry, about 3 minutes. Stir together broth, soy sauce, and cornstarch in a small bowl, and add to skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is no longer cloudy, 1 to 2 minutes. Return beef and any juices to pan; cook, stirring often, until beef is heated through, about 1 minute. Remove from heat, and stir in sesame oil. Serve with rice.
My boys & I loved this recipe. I'll definitely make it again. But I'd say the serving sizes didn't go very far. They both wanted seconds! I took one other reviewer's advice about adding ginger. I thought it was very flavorful and my picky eaters cleaned their plates.
I found this dish to be too bland, but the leftovers were excellent when I added hot pepper flakes (to taste) and about a teaspoon of fresh ginger. I would recommend including these in the sauce so that the flavors infuse the entire dish. With these additions, this makes for a delicious, healthy meal!
This was absolutely stunning! I didn't have broccoli, but it worked just fine. And I added sesame seeds right in the end, which tasted great! We had it with rice and we loved it!
I dont' have any kids but my husband loves this easy meal - I have made it several times and would highly recommend it.
This recipe is a very easy one pot meal! It is full of flavor and my family loved it! We served it on rice with a little siracha sauce on the side! YUM!
