Pickled Onions

Use this recipe for pickled onions from Liran Mezan of BLT Burger to make his mouthwatering Salmon Burger.

  • Yield: Makes enough for six burgers

  • 1 medium red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup red-wine vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons coarse salt


  1. Place all ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Remove from heat and let steep for 20 minutes. Let cool before using.
