Champagne and Cherries

A refreshing summer cocktail of sweet cherries and almond-flavored liqueur, topped off with sparkling wine.

  • 12 cherries, pitted and halved
  • 2 tablespoons Amaretto
  • Dry sparkling wine, such as brut Champagne


  1. Divide cherries among four tall, narrow glasses or Champagne flutes and top each with 1 1/2 teaspoons Amaretto. Let sit 10 minutes. To serve, top each with chilled sparkling wine.

    I was not a fan of this recipe. The Amaretto makes it way too sweet. Although the cherries were delicious, overall it was too sweet to drink. I would suggest just the tiniest splash of Amaretto and maybe that would work better, but this was definitely not as good as most Martha recipes.
