Blackberry Compote


This blackberry compote is topped by our delicious Individual Pear Charlottes.

  • Yield: Makes 1 1/2 cups

  • 1 pint blackberries
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Cassis liqueur, (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon water


  1. Place blackberries, sugar, liqueur (if using), and 1 tablespoon water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the berries become soft and juicy, 4 to 5 minutes. Serve warm.
