Cranberry-Orange Vodka
Martha and Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody chat about his new movie, "Cadillac Records," and make cranberry- and orange-infused vodka, a great Handmade Holiday gift.
In a small saucepan, heat cranberries, sugar, and water until the sugar dissolves, the liquid begins to turn a light-pink color, and the cranberries just begin to pop. Pour the cranberries and the liquid into a large glass jar; stir in peel and vodka. Cover, and let stand at room temperature at least 3 days or up to one month. Strain before serving.
I shouldn't give away my secret but....I went to paper source tonight and I got the best idea. They have pre-cut mittens. I got white mittens, red oval stickers on which I can write out the text. Add a red/white plaid ribbon trim to the cuff and a real button. Then, use a thin red ribbon to connect the 2 mittens -- and tie the whole thing around the bottle! It's absolutely adorable.
I found the cosmo recipe tag, but I cannot find the template for the label on the bottle that says "cranberry orange vodka." Where can I find this!? And if there is not one, does anyone have any ideas for what to do instead?

I made this as a gift for my brother's birthday. It was very simple and came out well. My brother and his friends loved making drinks with this.
Crimson, mine did not have anything white floating in it. Did all of your sugar dissolve?
mine came out with bits of white things floating in it. is it wax from the berries? is the innards of the berries? there isnt a picture i can go with, and the one i saw looks clear. does anyone elses look like theres white flakes in it everywhere? HELP
mine came out with little bits of white stuff in it. is it the inside of the cranberries? should i strain it out after two days and replace it with uncooked cranberries and orange peel?
is it fine the way it is? can they drink the white stuff? HELP
Instead of the glass jar, I (very carefully) poured the concoction into 0.5L tightly sealing glass limoncello bottles... not only are they more attractive, but they can be placed in the freezer so that the drink can be served as a very icy sipping liqueur. I am giving them as gifts along with a small set of 3oz shot glasses. Very inexpensive, but a complete gift with a great presentation.
A great gift for the holidays....add lime juice, triple sec, and a splash of cranberry juice to the infused vodka, and its an amazing cosmopolitan!
I have also made this with other fruits and also with your favorite candy :-)
Does anyone know how long the cranberry and orange vodka can be kept and should it be refrigerated after a few days?. I don't want to make it too soon if it has a short shelf life. I would think because of the alcohol it would be OK, but I'm not sure.
Try this: if you can't clik on it just cut and paste it in your browser.

On the show Martha says there is a cosmo recipe template that can be found on Martha.com that can be used for giving the cosmo mix as a gift. Where can that template be found?
