Parmesan Green Beans

Parmesan seems to make everything taste better. Authentic Parmigiano-Reggiano, Romano, or Asiago are other options. See what you have in your fridge's deli drawer. For the best flavor, buy a chunk of cheese and grate it yourself just before using.

Ingredients

  • Coarse salt and ground pepper
  • 2 packages (10 ounces each) frozen French-cut green beans
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Step 1

    Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil. Add green beans, and cook until tender, 2 to 4 minutes. Drain and return to pot.

  2. Step 2

    Add butter, lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper, and toss to combine. Serve sprinkled with remaining Parmesan.

    You lose many vitamins by putting beans in boiling water. Better to steam them or microwave them. Save those vitamins whenever can!! Recipe sounds yummy.

    Very fast and easy dish. Tastes delicious. I cut the recipe in half.
