Classic Cocktail Sauce


Serve this condiment alongside our Fruits de Mer Platter.

  • Yield: Makes about 1 cup

  • 2 tablespoons grated and peeled fresh horseradish, (or prepared horseradish)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce, (optional)


  1. Stir together horseradish, lemon juice, and salt in a small bowl. Stir in ketchup, and hot sauce if desired. Cover; refrigerate until ready to serve, or overnight.

Cook's Notes

If using prepared horseradish, reduce the amount of lemon juice to one tablespoon.
