Exotic Animals
Martha visits the exotic animals who call Tennessee's Shadow Nursery home.
Fourth-generation nurseryman Don Shadow not only grows an incredible variety of plants at Shadow Nursery in Winchester, Tennessee, he also devotes hundreds of acres to raising and breeding rare animals.
From ostrich to emu to camel, Don's animals enjoy sprawling land, open pastures, and dedicated care. Each of the 60 different species, including endangered breeds of livestock and poultry, is visited daily to ensure no health problems develop. To encourage biodiversity, Don participates in breeding programs aimed at protecting and perpetuating these unique animals.
