I suppose this would do in a pinch and for someone who doesn't sew to have something around their desk - however for most a simple sewing box is a necessity to have in a craft room - or even to make a charming little sewing box to start a youngster on the track for sewing - I did one for my neice - a plain craft box I covered with pretty fabric and ribbon and added to it the basic supplies for all she would need including some embroidery floss, making sure she had safety sizzors.
