This is a great idea! I have heard of a similar concept when one of the commercial storage Gold Coast companies serving a wide network of clients have decided to move its operations to a nearby location that is bigger and has better state-of-the-art technology.

They did a campaign to make their existing clients feel good about their move, and another to acquire new clients in the nearby area. It was such a great move that there was higher confidence among existing clients that also translated to word-of-mouth and increase of new customer base.

I moved in 2010 and used regular and email. The email notices I sent more often than the regular postcards ended up deleted (or lost) with people asking me to resend months later. The postcards ended up on refrigerators or desks. I only had one postcard lost.

It seems time consuming but on a rainy evening or winding down some night, it was the perfect chore.

You may have a million things to do, but this will ensure that people will feel special and keep track of you! Worth the time, in a world of fast fixes for our communications.

You know this is cute -- but if you've got "a thousand things to do", this is a rather time consuming way to send out the notification. As most people have electronic address books, a quick e-mail would be more effective and much less time consuming. (Not so cute, but you've got "a thousand things to do." Sometimes, efficiency is really the way to go.
