With all the table-hopping they do, brides and grooms often don't get a proper slice of their wedding cake. A friend can prepare a thoughtful "to-go" box for the couple.

  • Awl

  • Pastry box

  • Ribbon

  • Wax paper

  • Forks

  • Cake

  1. Use an awl to poke two holes an inch apart in the lid of a pastry box, available at baking shops.

  2. Thread ribbon through, and tie on forks.

  3. Line box with waxed paper. Give box to caterer before the reception.
