Foil Gift Wrap with Sequins and Pailettes

Martha Stewart Living, December 2010

For presents with presence, layer on the shine. Our secret weapon is foil floral paper; it comes in many colors and costs much less than most traditional metallic gift wrap. Ready-made, foil-covered boxes also work well. Add a wide band of foil here, some satin ribbon or a length of sequins there, and top it off with classic metallic bows, which can be snipped to make a loose star shape, or stacked (as in the trio of graduated silver bows) to form a "tree."

For dainty gift tags, string a few paillettes on metallic thread; inscribe with a paint pen.

What you need: Windsor pattern poly-embossed foil, in assorted colors, $6 per roll, wrapsmart.com. Metallic foil gift boxes, in assorted colors and sizes, $2.50 to $6, jampaper.com.
