Tools and Materials
- Map
- Foam core
- Acid-free tape
- Tea bags
- Watercolor paints
- Paintbrush
- Linen for mounting map (optional)
Antique Map How-To
1. Photocopy map, and attach photocopy to a piece of foam core using acid-free tape.
2. Wipe wet tea bags lightly and quickly across photocopied version of the map in even strokes.
3. Select a color palette and mix colors. Outline a parcel of land with one color. Select a new color to paint a body of water. With another color, outline the title. Let colors set, then add more layers to increase depth.
4. Once the map is complete, mount on linen or use in a Decoupage Map Tray.
