steps

  1. Sandwich a 4 1/2-inch square of eyelet between two squares of canvas (right sides facing). Sew and stuff as directed below.

  2. Place two 4 1/4-inch squares of satin together (right sides facing). Slip eyelet trim between them, lining up straight edge with edges of fabric; pin through all layers. Sew and stuff as directed below.

  3. Cut a 4 1/2-inch square of fabric; set aside. Cut a 5-inch square in quarters diagonally. Cut 11/2-inch-wide eyelet trim to cover triangles, and pin on so that long edges of trim are 1/4 inch in from edge of fabric. Sew eyelet to triangles on inside edge. Sew triangles back together with 1/4-inch seam allowance, right sides facing, to make a square; press seams open. Lay assembled square facedown on other square; sew and stuff as directed below (be sure not to catch outer edges of eyelet in the seam).

  4. Stitch around edges with 1/4-inch seam allowance, leaving 2-inch opening. Turn right side out; press with iron. Fill with batting; hand-sew closed. Sew on ribbon tie through all layers.
