Flaming Foliage Candleholders

Give colorful fallen leaves one last chance to shine -- or glow -- by repurposing them as decorations on glass candleholders. Place the cylinders around the house for a cocktail party, or line them up at the center of a dinner table. Against the candlelight, the leaves look like vibrant flames.

Tools and Materials

How-To

1. Apply spray adhesive to the backs of the leaves.

2. Wrap leaves around candleholder, letting the stem of each extend slightly past the base.

3. Cut off leaf overhang along bottom of candleholder.

I am more curious about how the glue and dried leaves will react to the heat. Can these candles be lit?

ditto to khender711's comment. Would a coating of modge podge on glass to adhere and then a coating over the glass and leaves seal it? A little more time consuming maybe....

this is a beautiful craft idea...one concern...do you think that they need to have any sort of sealer on top of the leaves? I wondered if they'd maintain their color or become too brittle and chip off without it.

For those that made it (or those with craft knowledge), what do you think?? thanks!!

I was looking for something that would add a little Autumn to my home without taking too much time. This is exactly what I was looking for! By putting these candle holders with the Martha Stewart wreath, my home will welcome the season in a beautiful way! Thank you Martha and team!
