Shower favors can complete a party theme or stand on their own. These fun favors and creative packaging ideas ensure the new mom and her guests will remember the joyous event -- and perhaps start a tradition of their own.
Flowery favors are easy to make by piling candy into colorful mini pails (available at party-supply stores). Insert a paper daisy with a lollipop poked through its center into each pail.
These bouquets serve as centerpieces and decorations during the shower, and become pretty party favors when the guests depart. Choose flowers that match the shower theme, and tie the juice-glass vases with ribbons if you like.
Pick up teacups and saucers at a thrift shop to pot miniature myrtle trees for baby shower guests to take home. Include a tag with care instructions on each favor.
Invite each baby shower guest to capture memorable moments through her own lens with these beribboned disposable cameras. Look at wedding favor websites to find reasonably priced disposable cameras in a variety of colors.
For a bird-themed party, sugar-coated Jordan almonds masquerade as robins' eggs in a delicate faux nest; parchment paper threaded among them acts as a simple place card. The almonds are available from confectioners in a range of colors; the nests are from a floral-supply company. Cut 3/4-inch-wide strips of paper long enough to reach across a nest, and write a name on each strip, finishing the ends in an inverted V.
Guests can bring home white candy from a towering candy bar that acts as a centerpiece in a white-themed shower. Use swatches of white tulle or muslin to wrap white-chocolate candy, white rock candy, truffles, chocolate-filled white dragees, marshmallows, and candied coconut.
Use yellow paper bags to make favors for a monkey-themed baby shower. After filling the bags with candy and toys, fold the bag top, punch two holes, slip a monkey bead or key chain onto a piece of cord, pass ends through the holes, and tie closed.
Trim the tops of glassine bags with scalloped scissors to create a decorative edge, and fill with any fresh, seasonal fruit. Buy bags to match the baby shower theme colors, or decorate with stickers.
Dress up plain paper lunch bags with colorful, origami-style flowers, and fill them with whatever you like.
Turn colored tissue paper into a beautiful garden of blooms. The base of each flower favor holds an acetate cylinder filled with the candy of your choice.
It's quick and easy to make these felt cases that hold travel packs of tissues. They're perfect for guests who are busy wiping runny noses when not attending showers.
Guests will say "goody" when they get these cheerful bags. Made of fabric scraps, they sew up in a snap.
