Whutcheon says, "I love Halloween, and I love carving pumpkins." It's evident by the fine detailing on this jack-o'-lantern.

Mudroom2 says her husband is a big Elvis fan, so she decided to pay tribute to the King by carving this image of Elvis in their pumpkin. They call it Hunka Hunka.

Dan carves a lot of pumpkins for his wife's friends and coworkers. Cutting in the smaller details proved to be very difficult because the pumpkin was 3 feet in diameter and had 3-inch-thick walls.

SuzMaluz uses some items come from her own yard. She thinks white pumpkins are enough of a contrast with the gourds, and uses whatever else she sees to make the decorations more dramatic or silly.

Ken, aka Dr. Carvinstein, created this pumpkin vehicle using a carveable foam pumpkin so it can be used season after season. He raided toy boxes for the wheels and motor and last year's Halloween decorations for the mummy driver and eyeball shifter knob. The smoke off the tires is expandable aerosol foam insulation.

This pumpkin, carved with a lion and lioness, took Jbird22 about six hours to complete.

Andrea was inspired by a news photo of Martha in Kazakhstan earlier this year. So when it came time to carve a pumpkin for Halloween, Martha in her fur hat seemed the perfect image for ushering in the crisper temperatures of fall.

This year, Antovel said she was feeling creative. With three small children and two of them terrified of anything slightly spooky, she stayed up one night and carved a pumpkin using a picture of her daughter, Alyx. She plans to honor her two other children very soon.

Pumpkincutter submitted this inventive lantern in the likeness of Joe Kola, a comedian on "The Martha Stewart Show." She heard he didn't like spiders.

Dan's favorite pumpkin this year pays tribute to Lon Chaney Sr. in his role of the Phantom of the Opera.  He hopes his love and appreciation for the character shines through in his work.

Lyttlewyng sent in this pumpkin inspired by Tim Burton films. She and her friend, Debb, created this display in an effort to help Meals on Wheels in Salem County, New Jersey for their annual Pumpkin Carve fundraiser. She carved and painted the head for a spookier feel and the bats were made from mixed materials and supported with curly willow branches and steel wire.

Debohf posted the following following three photos of pumpkins for her brother-in-law, Tomas, who is an artist and master pumpkin carver.  She says Tomas hopes eventually to create a coffee-table book of his creations over the years.

This is Ssoslow's favorite pumpkin from this year. It was difficult getting a good shot once it was lit, but here it is after dark.

Chelsea created the Pumpkin King Castle with her husband, Jason, as an entry to their family's annual carving contest and won! The castle is complete with spaghetti squash turrets, a working drawbridge, pumpkin seed cobblestones, and a pumpkin gut moat.

Arthur grew this flytrap pumpkin just for Martha! Happy Halloween!

Phinnman decorated and carved this beautiful home for the crows. The base was carved out of the inside of the pumpkin.

Jessie J has six children under the age 9, so pumpkin carving was a really big deal this year. She and the children lined up all the pumpkins and got right to work. The eyebrows are made of sticks, the eyelashes are made of leaves, and the teeth are pumpkin seeds

Pumpkin Man, carved from pumpkins and gourds, was made by Gary of Bay City, Michigan. He stands over 5 feet tall and weighs over 500 pounds.
