Newfy's rottweiler/chocolate lab mix, Bob, is dressed as Daredevil, the Headless Horseman's steed. Bob's costume is made of PVC, fiberfill, and kids' clothes, and weighs only about 5 pounds. He loves being fitted for his costumes, and enjoys dressing up every Halloween.
Contributor herrinkr describes how this hand-made costume was created: "The air tanks are made of aluminum water bottles with a felt wet suit. The fins, snorkel and mask, from a doll, work just perfectly. And finally, a tire gauge with some tubing for the finishing touch!"
"Every year I make costumes and my husband does a photo shoot of the dogs for holiday cards and window display for our gallery in Rockland, Maine," luckydoggallery writes. "These two are great sports about the whole production, and play along. You can see how thrilled Lucy is, and Barkley is just a big ham. They are rewarded for their efforts with a lot of positive reinforcement and dog cookies. You don't have to be crazy... but it helps!"
"Seamus is our senior Poodle mix rescue dog," writes melina11. "He came to us this summer from Sean Casey Animal Rescue in Brooklyn, NY. Seamus is an older gentleman who was found wandering the streets of NYC. He is missing some of his lower front teeth, which allows for his lower canine teeth to stick out in perfect vampire-fang fashion! His fangs were the inspiration for the Dracula costume, which was handmade by me."
"A wise person once told me that elephants don't forget anything," writes Teisha. "This photo is of my four-year-old 'PooChon' named Jackson and he never forgets who loves him the most. He is the best thing that has every happened to me, and each day when I return home from work he never forgets to let me know how much he loves me. Happy Halloween to everyone!"
