Colored pencil on paper.
It's easy to spot one of New York artist Brooke Churchill's pet portraits. Done in her signature mosaic style in colored pencil, they are brilliantly kaleidoscopic -- yet, at the same time, they reveal the intricate individuality of each of her subjects. An abstract expressionist whose work has been exhibited across the country, Brooke turned to the colorful illustrations for fun. But the commissions soon followed, and a new artistic avenue opened.

Brooke's work is just fabulous and it really captures the dog's personality. It was such a pleasure working with her when she did a portrait of my dog Ellie Mae #10. I can't wait for my new puppy to mature so that she can do her portrait too. Seeing Brooke's work on my wall just brings a smile to my face each day.
