Flowers to Go: Favor Bag

Martha Stewart Weddings, Spring 2008

Are you looking for a fresh, inexpensive idea for favors? We've got it in the bag. Lush floral centerpiece blooms double as favors when you provide guests with waterproof bags to take flowers home in. Have cellophane ones custom-printed with a message asking guests to pick a few flowers ( made ours). Set them out with twist ties to cinch bags closed, and at party's end your guests can carry on (and carry off) a bit of the celebration.

If you were really concerned about the flowers not surviving, I would add several mini watering cans to the table with the bags and include in the instructions to please take a few of the blooms and add a splash of water for the journey home. The cans would need the long narrow spout with the tiny opening. They could be spray painted or kept as tin for texture.

Although I do love this idea, I would think the flowers wouldn't survive until they're able to be placed in water. Some guests may be travelling over an hour to get home so by then, the flower will have wilted.
