Pomegranate Seating Cards

A symbol of eternity to ancient Greeks, the ruby-hued fruit is fitting for weddings.
Martha Stewart Weddings, 2006

Create a simple, natural display that's rich in color by propping seating cards atop beautiful pomegranates. A symbol of eternity to ancient Greeks, the ruby-hued fruit is fitting for weddings. Cut a slit in the blossom end of each pomegranate to hold the card (to avoid staining, make slits the night before to allow time for any juice to dry). To make the cards, print or calligraph guest names and table numbers onto card stock and cut into tags; bend into graceful S-shapes with your fingers before placing in slits.

I love using real fruit or veggies in the weddings I do and a special touch the couples always agree to is to donate the food to food banks after the wedding. They so rarely receive fresh fruit that they are always excited to see us coming!
