Stamped Book Bindings

Martha Stewart Living, May 2007

A good read always makes a nice gift, but why not make it good-looking, too? Use rubber stamps to decorate the edges with a design or message. It'll add a personal touch to any tome. To ensure a happy ending, hold the pages together as you stamp.

If the book is real thin, fan the pages and stamp. The pages will then have a shrunk image of your stamp. I used to work in a library and had to stamp the bottoms of the books with our library name. It's easy and does look really cool with leaves, flowers etc. To remove the ink-in most cases you use a little bleach and a Q-tip rub it over the stamped mark and it will bleach out.
