A few easy folds is all it takes to turn plain paper into cheery cups for servings of fresh fruit salad and more. Use sheets of glassine and parchment paper for moist food, like these balls of honeydew melon, cantaloupe, and watermelon. You could also serve assorted nuts, cookies, popcorn, and other treats in the colorful paper containers.
For each cup, start with one sheet each of glassine and parchment paper. Cut whichever sheet will form the inside of the cup to 9 1/2 inches square; cut the other to 10 inches square. Center the small sheet on top of the large sheet, and attach in center with a piece of double-sided tape.

Fold square in half to form a triangle.

Fold bottom-right corner to left side.

Fold bottom-left corner to right side.

Fold front top points over front of cup, then rear top points behind back. To complete, hold top of cup open with one hand, then gently press bottom seam up at the center with other hand.

Yay! Anyone who's been through grade school knows how to fold these but we called them just paper cups cause you could drink out of them!

to MrsLucky - I found these picks at Cost Plus World Market for $2.49 for 50.
I love this ideea...however I am more interested where to find these picks ~ I have looked in several different stores and cannont find - any ideas? Thanks!
I like crafts my children can remember! My daughter will love this one. We also do church parties... the miniatures with chocolates and scriptures are a wonderful idea!
I love these,im having a wedding in Sept and i was trying to find little packets/bags for the sweet candy buffet these are perfect.
Thanks Martha perfect as always
one thing i dont get bout the organizing tips is that they are mostly really cool crafts ... most of the regurlar crafts of "craft of the dday " are kinda boring so I think they sould get rid of organizing ttip of the dy a nd put it in the crft of the day
Cute idea! I was making those year's ago when I was a kid. We used them for drinking cups back then. As for the landfill. In Seattle, paper used with food on it can go into our garden/food waste and be recycled . Maybe you need to contact your home town recycling program and get them up to speed.
I Googled "colored glassine" and found LOTS of sources. Here's just one link: http://www.thefind.com/crafts/info-glassine-paper
Why is this called organizing? It's a craft.
because we need to throw more paper into our landfills...
i can think of 100 uses for this little gem!! Thanks Martha and Gang!
SUPER,SUPER CUTE AND SOOOOO EASY!!! THANKS!!!!
I love how you shape the fruit into a little ball.
I absolutely love it! it gives more time with guests then in the kitchen cleaning up.dessert anyone?
I saw this project in a MSL mag 2 years ago and have been making small ones, using 4 1/4" to 4 1/2" papers. Then, one Dove candy in each. When we use them as favors at church, we add a Bible verse, ala fortune cookies.
really neat craft for school and sunday gifts.. perhaps mayday baskets too.. really impressed at how simple the kids loved it too
This is a good idea! It's simple but really useful! And, it's save me a lots of space.
This would work so nicely for party favors, too! What a wonderful idea. (And oragami is so fun, anyway!) :)
I love this idea! It's so simple but I could use this over and over again for so many things!
What a great thought for kids parties - since I always prepare before this will work just great. Thank you Maratha
What a neat idea for serving children's snacks outdoors, also.
Very classy way to serve fresh fruits with warm chocolate sauce in individual
cups.
Great idea for this summer season, thank you Martha.
THIS IS A WONDERFUL QUICK AND EASY IDEA! IT WAS A HIT AT MY RECENT CANDLE PARTY!
Maybe use parchment paper instead? I'm going to tray this with construction paper to jazz up the 4 year old's snack - might make it interesting enough to eat. ha
